Take a bit of that holiday feeling home with you with our recipes. Try the dishes that you’ve enjoyed on your holiday at your hotel in Holzgau yourselves. Conjure up a little piece of Tyrol on your plate really easily yourself. Enjoy your meal!

Kasspatzln

Ingredients for 4 persons:

  • 300 g coarsely grated Tyrolean alpine cheese
  • 400 g flour (dunst)
  • 2 eggs
  • Approx. 0.25 l water
  • 3 onions
  • Butter, Oil
  • Salt
  • Ground pepper

 

 


Perparation:

Beat the flour, a pinch of salt, water and eggs until smooth for the dough. Grate the dough into boiling salt water using a “spätzle” noodle tool. Strain once the noodles are floating on the top of the water. Then put a layer of noodles in a pre-warmed bowl, cover with a layer of cheese, then add another layer of noodles – repeat this process.

Finally chop half the onions, cut the other half into rings. Fry the chopped onions in butter and mix into the noodles. Fry the onion rings in oil until brown and sprinkle them over the noodles before serving. Pour the melted butter over them and season with fresh pepper.

Recipe tip: Sprinkle the onion rings with flour before frying them.
